Stop Pollution

  • What is Pollution?
Pollution is the introduction of

Pollution can take the form of chemical substances
or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign
substances /energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as point source or non-point source pollution

  • What are the types of pollution?
The following are the types of pollution:
  1. Air Pollution
  2. Water Pollution
  3. Soil Pollution
  4. Noise Pollution
  5. Light Pollution
  6. Thermal Pollution

  Air Pollution:

  Water Pollution:

Water pollution is the contamination        of water bodies (e.g. lakesrivers
ocean aquifers and groundwater). This    form of environmental degradation
   occurs  when pollutants are directly
or indirectly discharged into  water          bodies without adequate treatment to      remove harmful compounds.

   Soil Pollution

Image result for soil pollution   Soil pollution as part              of land degradation is            caused by  the presence       of xenobiotic (human-            made) chemicals or   other    alteration in the natural soil    environment. It is  typically    caused by industrial              activity, agricultural                chemicals, or improper          disposal of waste. The            most common chemicals involved are petroleum

   Noise Pollution

Noise pollution or noise         disturbance is the                   disturbing or excessive
noise that may harm the         activity or balance of human   or animal life. The source of   most outdoor noise                 worldwide is mainly caused
  by machines and transpo-
rtation systemsmotor        vehicleaircraft,                   and train Outdoor noise         summarized by the word environmental noise.

  Light Pollution:

luminous   pollution, is    excessive, misdirected, or    obtrusive artificial          light. Pollution is the adding-  of/added light itself, in    analogy   to added    sound, carbon dioxide, etc.

 Thermal Pollution
Image result for thermal pollutionThermal pollution is the degradation of water quality by any process that changes ambient water temperature. A common cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power plants and industrial manufacturers. When water used as a coolant is returned to the natural environment at a higher temperature.
